An earring is a piece of jewellery, which is worn on the ear. They are worn by both sexes, although until recently in western cultures, they were more typically worn by women. Earrings are attached to the ear through piercing in the ear lobe or some external part of the ear, except in the case of a clip earring, which clips onto the lobe.
A earring can be made up of many materials including metal, plastic, glass, precious stones, beads and also from leather. They can be shaped into any form. Once the shape of a piece of leather is formed it can be further given any colours or shades, which will make it more attractive. They are hand painted and sculptured. They are mainly given the look of a feather. So the feather can be coloured and shaped into various feathers of different birds like hawk, pigeon, peacock etc. After painting, a clear acrylic finish is brushed on, front and back to help the fleathers keep its shape and to protect it from dust and water.
